Pediatrics Personal Statement Through Much Term Paper

Pediatrics Personal Statement

Through much soul-searching and a great deal of time spent with medicine and with children, it has become clear to me that my desire to help other people has evolved into a desire to help children, and therefore pediatrics is the area in which I want to focus, and the area in which I feel that I can do the most good for others and for myself. My work with children is highly important to me, and I have taken every realistic opportunity that has been offered when it comes to working with children that need and/or want my help. This includes children with serious diseases such as cancer and AIDS, children that have physical handicaps, and children from a burn unit, among others. While I could not help everyone or save everyone that I encountered, the joy that I could offer to so many children meant a great deal to me, and I know that it also meant a great deal to many of the children and their families. I was highly inspired by the strength that so many of these children and their families appeared to have, even in the face of adversity that at times seemed to be overwhelming, and I want to work in a career where I can continue to help others and feel their inspiration of their strength.

While this is the main reason that I want to involve myself in pediatrics as a career, I am also intellectually interested in the field. It is one of the most complex and fascinating areas of medicine, as there are so many different factors that must be accounted for when dealing with pediatric patients, and the field is always changing. I have always excelled academically, and believe that I would do very well when it comes to keeping up with everything that the pediatric field of medicine entails. I also feel that my academic abilities would allow me to succeed in making sure that my patients and their families have the latest information on any of the problems and conditions that they might have, which will help their quality of life, their quality of treatment, and the heightened anxiety levels that often come with health issues.
